MINI ELM327 Bluetooth Board Display:
When I first saw this Mini ELM327 Bluetooth listed it seemed like it could be really good but I was skeptical about it. I figured I would order it and if it didn’t work or was too hard to use I would send it back.
Well, I tried it out for the first time today and I was verrrry pleasantly surprised, I actually had one of those woe moments when I first saw how it worked. First of all it is extremely easy to use, The first thing you need to do is go to the google PlayStore for android and type Torque, 2 apps should come up, torque free and torque paid , I got the paid one for 4.95, I’m guessing you would have to deal with ads on the free one. For iPhones and iPads go to the iPhone appStore and find Dash Command.
Pairing is very simple. I have a android phone so first I plug in the OBDII Tuirel code reader into the outlet which should be under the dash on the drivers side ( mine was in the fuse box compartment) start the car or turn key to accessory then have your phone or tablet look for the unit. when it finds it, press it and start the pairing process, It asked me for the pin for the unit but 1234 as the pin worked .
Then open the app and have at it! When you hit Real Time Information it will show everything from RPM’s, Speed, Coolant temp and more. I luckily don’t have any warning lights lit up at present but if you do hit fault Codes on the menu and start from there, Hopefully there are other reviews that did need to use this and tells how well it worked. But from what I saw of this unit when I played around with it for a while I am very confident that will work too. Also with it being so small you can just leave it plugged in full time and just go to your phone or tablet when you need it.
For all this little unit does (along with the app and phone) the price of it is a bargain and I absolutely would have paid the full price of of $11.94 (4.95 app+6.99 the ELM327 scanner) which is what it is currently being offered for, a long time ago if I knew how well it worked back then. I did receive this at a discount for my honest and unbiased review.
